People Meter

A people meter is a small box that is hooked up to the tv and measures the viewing habits of the tv user. Each family member in a household is assigned a 'personal viewing button' The remote that comes along with the people meter identifies and records the users age, sex and viewing status. If the tv is turned on and the user doesn't indentify themselves, the meter will simply flash to remind them to identify themselves before use. The user needs to identify themselves so the people meter can record their viewing status and record the information from that particular viewer.
